Dancing with Class

Grump's was one of many stores celebrating the San Francisco Ballet Silver Anniversary.  I particularly enjoyed the selection of dresses they chose, as they reminded me that sometimes Ballet has theatrical productions that go beyond the dancers wearing tutus.

Happy New 2010

Well, it's a New Year... and as the nice people from Barneys remind us, it's also a New Decade. I love the way they used Chinese fortune cookies as the backdrop for these displays, as we can see in the following picture:

Frozen Fashion

Even though I really liked how these window displays look (at Saks Fifth Avenue), they do make the mannequins seem too cold, even for winter.

Red Boxes

The red backgrounds in the display at Neiman Marcus remind me of Louise Nevelson' artwork. It makes a stunning display for the mannequins and white clothes that stand out against the red.

At Zara, it seems that the Holiday season will be black and white. I particularly enjoyed the Christmas Tree with LED lights and the Dickens-inspired top hats for the season.

These Are Not Your Usual Suspects

The people at The Archive show us again how with a low budget, and great creativity a window display can stand out in the midst of The City. With only three mannequins they manage to convey the Holiday spirit, while showcasing their amazing wares.

The Art of Giving

I really enjoy looking at a store's window displays when they're connected, telling a story amongst all of them. And in this Holiday season, that's what I found at the Banana Republic store. Between mannequins, gift tags, red lights and giant pictures they convey perfectly the season's spirit.
